Physics shows that the heavier an object is, the more energy is required to move it and also that when a heavy object is travelling, it will require greater effort to change direction or to stop it, creating greater friction. Therefore when talking about motorcycles, and particularly about wheels, weight saving can have a dramatic effect on performance. Fitting lighter wheels will result in better acceleration, better braking and less gyroscopic effect meaning the bike will handle better, respond easier to rider input, and 'turn in' quicker.



Galespeed wheels are manufactured in Japan, from forged aluminium. The method of manufacturing results in a much stronger material than used in original equipment cast alloy wheels and therefore allows for thinner rim construction, which effectively reduces the wheels' weight whilst retaining the necessary strength for road use.
